I believe most refurbished items have been returned by a buy... generally without anything wrong with it and so sold as refurbished. You might think that means the item had something wrong with it and now that problem has been corrected. You might even think you are getting something that has "all the bugs worked out of it" and brand new. The brand new part may be right but I think this company Campbell-Hausfeld doesn't give a care about their products. I had to return a refurb as it was DOA... no air pressure and louder than my giant garage compressor. Then I went to a pancake compressor (new... same company)... instructions say "break in with regulator valve turned clockwise all the way" for 5 min... NO regulator... and for an airbrush 100 psi. Thankfully that one didn't work either... no air pressure at all after 15 min of running and so darn loud it was running in my basement and my wife was worried I might interrupt my neighbor's dinner (100 ft away in another closed house). I will keep my eyes open for this brand Cambell-Hausfeld and run the other way. No reflection on Amazon by the way...

This is not a good quality compressor. I expect more from CH. The air feeder lines from piston are car fuel lines and not air hoses. The two feeder hosed rub against each other (due to poor design) because of vibration and will wear a hole in each other. I have had this compressor for 1 year and 2 months, used it 5 times and now the hoses have worn through and air leaks out. What a piece of crap. I spent 3 hours fixing this, cutting away crappy fittings, reinstalling air hose and clamping off. Do not buy this.

This bad boy will do the work of a much larger compressor. It will easily run several guns on a framing crew or even a roofing crew. The HP rating is a little misleading compared to other compressors. 2 HP isn't max , it's continuous. I have one of these (Emglo 2HP) that's been abused and used hard for several years now with no problems ,only good dependable air. I highly recommend it. If I could change one thing I would make it quieter.

I use this with my Paslode; 16 Gauge and Framing nailers, I hang then trim doors, sometimes rebuild sills and headers. I also do various trim/frame carpentry on other projects.
If you are worried about changing the oil its only once a year!
If you are worried about operating on a slope, i have always found a flat spot to locate it in, even roofers leave theirs on the ground, just put on more hose. Who wants to carry this up a ladder anyway?!
I would never buy an air compressor without a user serviceable airfilter!
I would never buy one of those oil less types

This is a very nice Air compressor for a small garage, I have used it so far to work on motorcycles and will be using it to sand and paint my pickup. It is a nice machine a little louder than I had hoped but livable.

I was looking for a replacement compressor that would last longer than my last. This was not the case with this
cheap compressor As soon as I pulled it out of the box, I was so excited til I plugged it in. It did not work.
I thought maybe a breaker was thrown. Nope. I tried every outlet in my house and still nada. Do not buy it is a POS

The are nicely made and finished. No jagged edges and they fit well my other air compressor accessories. One good thing about this kit is that it includes an adapter with a female thread. I had bought an air chuck that came with a male thread, so I needed this kit and the female thread adapter to fit the air chuck to my air hose, which also has a male thread. Another kit that is sold here did not include an adapter with a female thread, so that one is useless to me. That other one was also made of steel, unlike this kit, which is made of brass.

I like that they give you males and one female, which you might need if you're building a hose.
I've had cheaper generic steel ones that leak air, but these seem to fit perfectly and don't leak.

This is a really nice hose. It is very heavy walled, which will hold 300 PSI and also resists kinking better than lightweight hoses. It is quite flexible which makes it easy to postion without cramping your work style. The ends require 1/4" NPT fittings. I like the orange color - it stays bright and easy to see when it's strung accross the floor.
If you are looking for a durable, heavy-duty hose, here it is.

Overall very good hose. Tough and visiable so there is no excuse for running over it with the bush hog. It can be hard to coil particularly in cold weather. That's why 4 stars not 5.

I have not yet powered up the compressor, but it has arrived in good order, no visible damage, and several days prior to its scheduled arrival. I will write more after the compressor sees some service. So far, I have no complaints.
Finally powered up the compressor and have operated it several times. So far it has worked quite well. Pumps to 150 lbs. pressure in a short time. I just use a few air tools so I do not tax the compressor to any degree. At the present time, I would recommend this item.
